Cessnock Pistol Club has a world class range located in the lower Hunter Valley 50km west of Newcastle. The range facility boasts eight ranges consisting of five 25m ranges, two 50m ranges and a 10m air pistol range. Other facilities include a large open plan club house with functional kitchen, and amenities block with showers . Cessnock Pistol Club has been host to several state championships, four Pistol Australia ISSF/PA National Championships (2009, 2012, 2014 and 2017). We also hold three open shoots each year, the Wine Country blackpowder in February, the Vintage ISSF in March, and the Haywood Open in August.
Our 25m ranges (Ranges 1 to 5) are equipped to shoot matches in ISSF, Action and Pistol Australia disciplines. They include facilities for falling plates, barricades, prone and seated shooting, rapid fire and standard shooting positions. Undercover shooting, observation and target areas make for comfortable shooting in any weather condition.

Our two 50m ranges are also equipped for ISSF, Action and Pistol Australia disciplines and are also licensed for small bore and black powder rifle matches. Range 6 is primarily used for ISSF matches including 50m Pistol and the precision stage of Centre Fire\Sports Pistol. This range also houses the ‘Mover’ stage of Action pistol and can be used for 50m Black Powder, Service Pistol and WA1500 disciplines. Range 7 is dedicated to Service Pistol and WA1500 matches and allows six competitors to shoot at any one time.

Our 25 bay Air Pistol range is capable of housing the qualifying events for a large national championships and one half of the range can then be converted into a finals style range to round out the event. Quiet and fast button operated target changers allow for efficient target changing throughout your match.
